Customised and Bespoke Jewellery

We absolutely love a custom piece! Here at Sea Stone Jewellery, we specialise in bringing your unique ideas to life. Our tailored service transforms any piece of sea glass, stone or heirloom jewellery into a stunning piece of wearable art that you treasure forever. We can breathe new life into old or inherited jewellery, turning items you may not wear into cherished pieces you’ll be proud to showcase.  We can re-use your old sentimental gold, this is a lovely way to repurpose inherited gold.  If you choose this option please be aware that its not always the cheapest option.  The art of refining and reforming gold is a lengthy, skilled process and often the cost is the same as (or more) than of we were to use new gold.  I would only recommend this option for the most sentimental of pieces.  If you have old gold you wanted to use but its not sentimental I can recommend we trade the gold in at scrap value and deduct the scrap value from the finished price.  This can make a new piece more accessible.

Custom orders take time and a unique skill of design and interpretation to achieve a product that exceeds expectations.  Where appropriate* renders are created (hand drawn paintings of the finished product) before the design is created, this is all part of our holistic service.  If you are interested in a custom order please get in touch via the contacts form and we will take it from there.  Prices for custom orders are varied and start from £125 for a piece in sterling silver, £500 for 9ct Gold and £1000 for 18ct Gold.  We can work to any budget so don't be afraid to ask.

What to expect when commissioning a customer jewellery piece.

The first part of the consultation we will arrange a design brief to discuss your needs.  This can be done via WhatsApp, telephone or face to face in the studio gallery if you are local.  In this meeting I will gain an understanding of your requirements, design preferences and budget. 

 

If you choose to proceed, the next step is we take the first payment of 15% of the commission price to cover design and development costs.  In this time frame I will be creating renders ( hand-painted drawings of the various design options) or line drawings of the finished item, searching and presenting ideas for gemstones etc.  This stage takes approximately 2 weeks.

Once the design has been confirmed, the next step is we take another payment of 25% of the total commission price, this is when we begin creating your piece and purchase any gemstones, precious metals for the design.

The final stage is hallmarking, photography and presentation.  Once the item is finished the remaining balance of 60% is due. It usually takes 6-8 weeks for a bespoke commission to be made from start to finish.
