Customised and Bespoke Jewellery

Whether you are wishing to remodel inherited jewellery, celebrate a special occasion or treat yourself the bespoke process will allow us to work closely together to create you something completely unique, sentimental and that represents your individual style.

Commissioning:

The commissioning process allows us explore all possibilities of a piece of jewellery.  Through this journey I work closely with you and your budget.  We will source precious stones and preferred metal, from sterling silver to Gold. Prices start at £150 for Sterling Silver, £550 for Gold*

Remodeling Heirloom Jewellery:

I can breathe new life into old or inherited jewellery, turning items you may not wear into cherished pieces you’ll be proud to showcase.  We can re-use your old sentimental gold, this is a lovely way to repurpose inherited gold.  If you choose this option please be aware that its not always the cheapest option.  The art of refining and reforming gold is a lengthy, skilled process and often the cost is the same as (or more) than of we were to use new gold.  I would only recommend this option for the most sentimental of pieces.  If you have old gold you wanted to use but its not sentimental I can recommend we trade the gold in at scrap value and deduct the scrap value from the finished price.  This can make a new piece more accessible.

What to expect when commissioning a customer jewellery piece.

The process:

The very first step is to discuss what you want, the design, timescale, stone sourcing, metal colour/carat and whether you will want to incorporate inherited jewellery.  I prefer to do this stage face to face, as I am often inspired by taking to people and so much is absorbed both in a conversation and non-verbally.  This can be done by visiting me in my studio is Saltburn, or via whatsapp.

Design:

After our consultation I will begin the design process, that will either include a render of the piece, which is a hand painted illustrations of the design or it might be wax model of the piece of jewellery.  To proceed with this step £150 deposit is needed, which is then deducted from the final price of your commission.  If you chose to not progress for whatever reason this is non refundable.

Payment:

Once the design has been discussed and any renders/models have been confirmed, a deposit of 50% of the full amount is needed to proceed.

Creation time:
For custom pieces the time scale is usually 8-10 weeks, although if you needed something sooner Joanna always works hard to accommodate your requirements

What our customers say...

custom made ring using customers inherited jewellery_edited.jpg
"I had two inherited rings that were sitting in a drawer, as they were not my size or style.  Joanna listened to what i wanted and created this gorgeous ring, using the gold and two smaller diamonds from my Grandmother's engagement ring and a larger diamond from another old engagement ring.  I now have a gorgeous ring that is both totally unique and meaningful that I wear everyday. Thank You"
