Hand crafted fine silver pendant, featuring a beautiful, pale aqua/seafoam Codd marble piece of sea glass. Found on the shore of Saltburn by the Sea, North Yorkshire.

This design has been hand created to capture the simply beauty of raw, natural sea glass. Quietly bezel set in fine silver with a simple sterling silver bail, the sea glass marble takes center stage.

Suspended on an 20 inch sterling silver chain.

The pendant measures approximately 12mm sphere .

"1872 Hiram Codd introduced a design featuring a glass marble to keep it airtight. The Codd-neck bottle, as it was called, enclosed a marble and a rubber washer/gasket in the neck. The pressure of the gas in the bottle forced the marble against the washer, sealing in the carbonation. Codd bottles were still widely used until the 1930s." BBC History of the World.
